After a week of meaningful exploration and engagement with conservationists, plentiful wildlife and warm local hospitality, the crew of Hōkūleʻa set sail today for Rapa Nui.

As the crew of Leg 28 prepares for their voyage to Rapa Nui, they seek protection both physical and spiritual.

Completely remote from the continent, creatures on these islands developed unique characteristics to survive.
