Aloha, this is Michi Wong here with Hikianalia and Hōkūleʻa at Swains Island. We are waiting out the weather and were fortunate enough to stay here overnight. Beautiful starry skies have shifted to the current overcast weather. We spent the day exploring the lagoon with the Jennings family, our wonderful hosts who have welcomed us with their big hearts and open arms. This morning we had an incredible feast of coconut crabs and fresh coconuts. It has been an amazing time here. We did beach clean up, and others have been exploring the island looking at the settlement, the church, whatever remained of the copra farm here. There is about 40 Jennings family members here, so weʻre switching out with crew so that people can experience the island and the wonderful people here.
