Hōkūleʻa Update | August 13, 2015

The Leg 14 crew arrived into Bali yesterday and have spent their time prepping Hōkūleʻa and themselves for the 3500-mile journey to Mauritius. The canoe is in excellent shape and the crew worked all day today to get ready for a departure either Saturday or Sunday Bali time. Crew went through all the safety gear, canoe gear, communications equipment, as well as all of the sails.  Kealoha and Kaina used the Gershon dinghy to change the tow bridal and visually inspect the underside of the canoe. Everyone and everything is ready to go for Hōkūleʻa’s longest distance leg without a scheduled crew change in her 40-year history!

Please help keep us sailing for future generations. All contributions make a difference for our voyage. Mahalo nui loa!
