Hōkūleʻa Update | May 29, 2015

Aloha, welcome to Hōkūleʻa. My name is Hauʻoli Smith-Gurtler, and I am the first mate on this particular leg from Aurere to Sydney and here in beautiful Cleveland. We are Raby Bay and are being graciously hosted by the Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR), which I think is unbelievable that they have volunteers for marine rescues here. We are about to depart to go to our welcoming ceremony around the corner so if you see us not moving on the tracker, it’s because we are stationed here for a couple of days, and we will be leaving to carry our voyage.
