The Mālama Honua Movement

IMG_4250
When Master Navigator Nainoa Thompson talks with schools and organizations about the Worldwide Voyage, he compares the people, places and ideas that are connected through the voyage to flowers of a Hawaiian lei. As people like you engage in the voyage, this “lei of hope” begins encircling our Island Earth.

Exactly what does this lei look like? We are excited to share with you a new interactive map that includes 40th anniversary wishes for Hōkūleʻa to carry around the world, stories of hope, and affirmations to Mālama Honua (care for Island Earth), from like-minded individuals like you around the globe.

Please have a look and explore this growing community of people who, together, can create a pathway of hope for future generations.
