Math That Includes Nature & Culture: A New Round of Courses for Educators
We’ve got great news from PVS crewmember Linda Furuto whose exciting work in ethnomath we’ve featured before: There’s a new round of math education programs available from the University of Hawaiʻi for 2020/2021. For those of you interested, they’re holding two rounds of virtual info sessions so you can find out more about their Ethnomathematics Graduate program.
For more than a decade, UH has been developing dynamic mathematics educators through ethnomathematics training, which provides hands-on experiences such as sailing aboard PVS’s double-hulled canoes Hikianalia and Hōkūleʻa.
