By ʻOiwi TV

On Saturday July 19 2014, the voyaging canoes Hōkūleʻa, Hikianalia, and Faafaite departed Fare, the main town on the island of Huahine. Light and variable winds allowed the vessels to leave without incident as they now journey to Tahaʻa and Bora Bora. Kalā Baybayan, an apprentice navigator on Hikianalia, explains how community groups in the Society Islands carry out the idea of mālama honua, protecting our island earth. Continue to visit Hokulea.com for the latest crew updates and track the voyage at http://www.hokulea.com/track-the-voyage/
