Hōkūleʻa departs Sydney en route for Brisbane.

At the end of the day, we had a great mahalo sail in the harbor for all of our supporters from the American Embassy, the Maritime Museum, and it was awesome to be able to share our waʻa on an evening sail with them.

Next time we are broadcasting with you guys, we will maybe be with the native people from the Sydney area.

More people from the public come to visit the canoe and talk story. It is always beautiful to watch their faces launch into the realm of the imaginary, envisioning all 14 of us sailing across the Tasman Sea on such a small platform.

Hōkūleʻa's crew waits in Coffs Harbor for favorable and safe weather conditions before continuing on to Sydney.

It is wonderful to make connections from home on the other side of the planet, ever reminding us just how small and precious our island Earth is.
