The Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage is making its way to the East Coast of the United States with plans to reach Washington, D.C. in May, 2016. Residents and supporters in D.C., however, are already laying the groundwork for this historic arrival.

wcc_logoThe Washington Canoe Club, a National Register Historic Place, is honored, and excited to host the traditional Polynesian voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa during her historic visit to our Nation’s Capital in the spring of 2016. Founded in 1904, the Washington Canoe Club is steeped in canoe history and rich in canoe racing heritage. Club organizers say that they are humbled that the Polynesian Voyaging Society has chosen Washington Canoe Club to be the anchor site for Hōkūleʻa’s DC visit.
