WORLDWIDE VOYAGE LEGS SAILED:
Leg 5: Samoa to Aotearoa
Nick Marr, originally from Aotearoa, saw Hōkūleʻa for the first time in 1986 when she came upon the shores of Aotearoa during the Voyage of Rediscovery. From that moment the journey in his life has led him to sail aboard Hōkūleʻa for the leg Nā Waka: A Tribe Returning Home.
Nick looks forward to seeing the impact that Hōkūleʻa and the crew will make on the people and the communities. And to better understand how our tupuna sa and lived in this vast ocean environment.
After this leg of the voyage is over, Nick will miss the freedom and ahua (presence) of the ocean the most.
