2015 Hikianalia: Hawaiʻi & NW Hawaiian Islands
Chad first sailed on Hikianalia in 2014 on a voyage to Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. To Chad, Hōkūleʻa is a spirit of connectedness to all things, past and present, upright and prostrate, pride and humility, tradition and innovation. Through the Worldwide Voyage, Chad hopes to see tangible manifestations of this spirit. He believes that there is an amazing opportunity to take action to make the concepts that are being shared through the WWV real to take care of our home, on land and at sea, and perpetuate traditional practices.
