Leg 3: Tahiti to Sāmoa
Haunani is an educator at Ke Kula ʻO Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu Iki Laboratory Public Charter School in Keaau, Hawai'i Island. She became involved in sailing through the ocean program at the school where she teaches. As such, she sailed on Hikianalia during the Statewide Sail. While sailing, Haunani is an Education Specialist and she connects with students back in Hawai'i and shares what she and her crewmembers have learned from the places they visit. She hopes that through the Worldwide Voyage, she can inspire others to mālama honua and make a difference in the way children of Hawai'i perceive themselves.
