Crew Profile: Pam Omidyar

PVS Member Since

HOMETOWN: Honolulu, O'ahu
PRIMARY DUTY:
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
WORLDWIDE VOYAGE LEGS SAILED: 2017 Galapagos Islands, Leg 12: Brisbane to Darwin
Pam followed Hōkūleʻa in '75 and '76 growing up, and first had the opportunity to sail on Hōkūleʻa in 2009. For Pam, Hōkūleʻa symbolizes the human potential to more deeply understand our interdependence on each other, our oceans and our land and remind us of a better way to reach a sustainable world. She has been inspired to see the the Worldwide Voyage being realized and values of PVS being upheld and shared around the world.

While away at sea, Pam misses hugs from her children and husband. While back on land, she misses the ability to live simply and the time to reflect on the vastness of the ocean and our universal interdependence.
