OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
WORLDWIDE VOYAGE LEGS SAILED: Leg 7: Auckland to Wellington
Dr. Wong serves a the medical officer aboard the canoe. He first got involved with PVS in 1979 while training for the 1980 voyage. To him, Hōkūleʻa has been life changing in connecting him to his Hawaiian roots and culture. He hopes that through the Worldwide Voyage, Hōkūleʻa will be able to heighten our awareness of Earth's life-giving oceans and of the value of indigenous culture and knowledge.

While sailing, Dr. Wong misses a hot shower but back on land he misses the peace and harmony of a working crew.
