Kelly first began sailing with PVS on interisland trips in 2009 to Lahaina, Maui and Kalaupapa, Molokai. To him, Hōkūleʻa means a way that his generation can honor the one that came before and give to the one that comes after. Through the Worldwide Voyage, Kelly hopes that people will see a middle path - one that combines the technology of today with the values of our ancestors.
