Henk, a gaming and technology entrepreneur, is the founder of the Blue Planet Foundation committed to the mission of stewarding the environment through developing non-carbon, clean energy sources. Through the worldwide voyage, he hopes that Hōkūleʻa will inspire people to unite to solve our common problems. To Henk, Hōkūleʻa is a symbol and reminder that we once all one people and we must again become one people.
While at sea, Henk misses his family, friends and a good glass of wine but while back on land he misses the wind in his face, the waves beneath his feet and the adventure of voyaging.
