Bruce is an elementary school teacher and an ocean enthusiast. Aboard the canoe, he serves as an Education Specialist. He has been involved with PVS often volunteering with the education 'ohana since 2009 and his family has supported PVS since its inception. He looks forward to educating future generations about the amazing Polynesian voyagers' knowledge and respect for the ocean. He believes that we can learn a lot from the wisdom of Polynesians and their stewardship and perpetuation of cultural values as we face new challenges to mālama honua.
