From Aotearoa, Haimona has sailed on waka hourua (double hulled canoes in Māori) in the Pacific including a voyage from Aotearoa to Rapa Nui. While voyaging he enjoys experiencing the manaakitanga (hospitality in Māori) of the islands visited and appreciates most the feeling of returning home after a long voyage.
