2017 Hawaiʻi Homecoming, Leg 21: New York to Maine
Pete sailed on the 2007 voyage through Micronesia to Japan, which was a landmark life experience for him. The overwhelming exhilaration of sailing a Polynesian canoe in the open Pacific Ocean, sunrise to sunset, through nights of a million stars, day after day, touched a deep longing that had been present in him for a lifetime. But just as amazing to him was the feeling of belonging to something very powerful and meaningful - representing what we all would like the world to be.
Experiencing this with a group of like-minded, generous, gracious and caring crew mates was a gift that he wishes he could somehow share with all dreamers and doers everywhere.
