Dan, a retired locksmith, joined the Hōkūleʻa crew on Leg 20 sailing through Washington, DC, to help his brothers and sisters who came a long from Hawaiʻi on their journey up the East Coast and to make them feel safe and at home at the Washington Canoe Club.
