Colleen grew up in Honolulu and graduated from Hawaiʻi School for Girls/La Pietra. She has been following Hōkūleʻa since she was a kid and bearing witness to the magnificent ripple effect the canoe has had on Hawaiian culture and pride; now world-wide!
To Colleen, the mission of raising environmental awareness and the necessity of mālama honua could not be more crucial. Powered by wind in the sails, she delights in the sensation of moving through the water. When she is offshore, she does miss her Koʻolau's though. The love and support of her family and friends accompanies her always.
