Dr. Chang is a doctor in private practice in Kāneʻohe. On the canoe, she serves as Medical Officer keeping the crew healthy. She sees Hōkūleʻa as a great opportunity to trace her heritage and she hopes that through the Worldwide Voyage many others will have this opportunity as well. While sailing, she misses fresh water baths and showers but back on land she misses the sound of the wind in the sails and the slap of the waves on the hulls.
