Raised in New York, Evan lived on O'ahu for 8 years before moving to his current home in Los Gatos, California, where he works at Google[x]. To Evan, Hōkūleʻa is a centerpiece of cultural renaissance unique in a world in which many people assimilate into society and lose their unique heritage. He hopes that the Worldwide Voyage can share Hawai'i's stories with people around the world and motivate native people to work together on global issues from climate change to saving our oceans.
