Leg 6: Waitangi to Auckland
Kate first sailed on Hōkūleʻa in 2001 while in Hawaiʻi carrying out a research project. She was extremely excited to hear that Hōkūleʻa was coming to visit Aotearoa on the Worldwide Voyage. She has been voyaging for 10 years on Te Aurere, a voyaging canoe built in Aotearoa in 1991. While at sea, she misses her cats Tama, Hini and Kiti.
