Leg 10 – Auckland to Aurere
From Oʻahu, Kimo sees Hōkūleʻa as a huge rebuilding accomplishment, both physical and cultural. While sailing, Kimo appreciates the freedom of not clock watching. Back on land, he enjoys reading the morning paper and having a glass of wine with dinner but he still misses being able to harmonize with the winds and swell and feeling the living breath of the ocean.
